Stephanie...watch and see if this could be a video to replace a discovery streaming... we can have these on the iPods...and students can listen at their own pace? Some good connections to other immigrant groups and the Irish....

I have been able to create a wiki for the social studies class Stephaine Gallegos and I teach. I was also able to create a template and add it to the pages that needed it, and create the wiki so that it can only be viewed by people (students) who join the wiki - so it seems really secure.

My question now is: what is the difference between a page where students can comment and a discussion page? How do they differ and what are the benefits to each?

Also, you can have student join the Wiki without having them have an email account. Has anyone done a wiki this way? Or is it easier to have students create an email account?

Since I am playing around in my sandbox, I thought I would share one of my most favorite commercials ever...especially now that I am the mother of a school-aged child!
